Dr. Bashammakh is a Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals and currently the CEO of National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA) since Jan 2022 until now. Chair of the board for knowledge company at DTVC and CEO of the company prior to that.

He was the dean of the academic development (DAD) at KFUPM (from Nov 2018 to Dec 2021). He was the chairman of the chemical engineering department at KFUPM (2014 to 2018). He was the program assessment center director (2010 to 2014). He is an official program evaluator for ABET, conducted many visits for ABET and NCAAA accreditation.

He received his Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from Waterloo University, Canada, in 2007, M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in chemical engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.
