Bio:
Dr. Abdullah Sultan is the Dean of Research Oversight and Coordination at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals and an associate professor in the department of petroleum engineering. He holds BS and MSc in Chemical Engineering and Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. His areas of research interest include complex and reactive fluids, colloids, and interfaces. His recent work and publications are focused on the development of “smart fluids” to address challenges in the oil and gas industry such as Enhanced Recovery, drilling fluids, stimulation, and scale prevention. He has more than 100 publications in peered reviewed journals and conferences in the fields of polymer solution, smart fluids, acid reaction, gels, and emulsions. He has more than 20 patents issued and 1 technology in the commercialization track. He served as director for the Center of Petroleum & Minerals in Research Institute at KFUPM and department Chairman for Petroleum Engineering.
